FAQ

What is the Slapshot Premier League?

A competitive Slapshot league run by a small group of community members. It is not a simulation league: teams are created and managed by the players themselves, with a captain running the roster.

How do I join?

Registrations open ahead of each season. Mid-season the route in is free agency: fill in the free agency form and your entry is posted to #free-agents in the SPL Discord, where captains can find you. Join the Discord and you can also post in #looking-for-team.

Who can play? Will I be good enough?

There are multiple levels of competition, so you can play as seriously or as casually as you like. The Open Division is the lowest tier, and where most newcomers start.

How are teams placed in divisions?

By previous SPL experience. A team with no SPL history starts in the Open Division.

Is there an SPL Discord?

Yes. Join here. Scheduling, free agency and announcements all happen there.

How does scheduling work?

Matches are played across the league's default match days, Monday to Sunday. The two captains agree availability between themselves, and the home captain enters the agreed start time.

Where do I register a team?

Through the league's registration forms (team registration, central registration). If the current window is unclear, ask in Discord.

Is there a rulebook?

Yes — the Player Handbook covers conduct and eligibility. Bans can be appealed through the ban appeal form.

Are matches cast?

The SPL Network streams on Twitch, led by DarthTaksil, with other casters covering matches when they are available. The staff page lists the broadcast team.
